Our mission
Eye Academy was created as a solution to the lack of quality resources available for ophthalmologists taking post-graduate exams. During our own studies for the FRCOphth exams, we found that existing resources were out-of-date, poorly structured, and hosted on clunky platforms. We set out to change that.
Our mission is to empower the next generation of ophthalmologists by providing high-quality, accessible, and innovative educational resources while fostering a supportive professional community.
We are dedicated to:
Delivering high-yield learning tools: Offering question banks, courses and free learning materials designed to align with the specific needs of ophthalmology trainees, as well medical students and doctors pursuing a career in ophthalmology.
Transforming learning experiences: Simplifying complex concepts, improving exam preparedness, and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice.
Building a thriving community: Facilitating collaboration, networking, and shared learning among ophthalmologists through a vibrant and supportive platform.
Hosting free live events: Providing access to interactive webinars, workshops, and expert-led discussions to encourage real-time engagement and peer-to-peer learning.
Fostering lifelong growth: Cultivating a culture of continuous development to meet the evolving challenges of modern ophthalmology.
Built for ophthalmologists,
by ophthalmologists.

Smart Study mode is our bespoke, built-in algorithm available across all our question bank products which is based on the famous Anki algorithm. When Smart Study mode is enabled, the algorithm uses your past performance to recall previously incorrectly answered questions more frequently, and correctly answered questions less frequently, so that you fill those gaps in knowledge more efficiently.

Yes! As long as you are a training doctor in the UK with an allocated study budget, you can claim back the cost of our products. This includes any foundation year doctors, doctors training in other specialties, doctors pursuing the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). We have had multiple users successfully claim the entire cost of our Part 2 FRCOphth Written Question Bank by using the OPHTH001 code. We are working with Health Education England to establish a specific code for Eye Academy question banks and will update this section once this is confirmed.

Having sat the exams not long ago, we felt the current question banks have a number of weaknesses: they were outdated, not reflective of what actually comes up in the exam, and the explanations were poor. Eye Academy question banks promise to address all these issues and aims to be the only revision tool you require with high yield questions, easy-to-understand yet thorough explanations and more.
